Workshop Summary

Chimpanzee populations continue to decline throughout their home range and various efforts are being employed by various Governments, institutions and Non-Governmental organizations to halt this trend amidst global challenges of human population growth, poverty and climatic change.  Ngamba Island was established in 1998 to care for rescued orphan chimpanzees in Uganda, and up-to-date continues to register high influx of baby chimpanzees being confiscated.
