CLINIC DAY AT MYENDE 18TH AUGUST 2009
Under our education program "sustainable living on Lake Victoria", CSWCT has organised a clinic day at Myende community primary school. The clinic day is meant to sensitise the community on how to live a positive life and change in behaviour.
Activities will involve:
• Counselling, voluntary testing for HIV/AIDS,
• Sensitisation on Nutrition and starting up vegetable gardens among others
• Film show on prevention, and positive living with HIV
DISTRIBUTION OF INPUTS TO PRIVATE FOREST OWNERS ADJUCENT TO CHIMPANZEE HABITATS,HOIMA DISTRICT 25th AUGUST 2009.
CSWCT, through its field program, will distribute farm inputs to private forest owners of Kyabigambire, Kitoba, and Kiziranfumbi. Training the groups in enterprise management, bee keeping, local chicken rearing and piggery has already been done.
Farm inputs include;Piglets, bee hives, local poultry birds
SOCCER FOR CONSERVATION 23rd AUGUST – 25 SEPTEMBER 2009
All Island communities adjacent to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary will participate in a soccer tournament.
Eight teams have already registered; Ngamba Island team will play a friendly match just like last year.
Activities will involve;
• Film show at quarter, semi and final matches (conservation education)
• The winning two teams will get a brand new football jersies.
• Friendly match between Ngamba staff and third best team

FUNDRAISING
CHIMP CHALLENGE 12th SEPTEMBER 2009
CSWCT, together with City Tyres have once again organised a fundraising event. “THE CITY TYRES 4X4 CHIMP CHALLENG 2009”
All funds that will be got from this event will go directly to the welfare of the chimps in terms of food and veterinary care.
Raffle tickets are on sale with various awards. Registration fee will be 300,000 USH, per vehicle.
Activities include:
• Skill school – Mild
• Balancing Beam
• Divorce Derby
• Relay Race
This year two new Extreme Challenges have been introduced.
Mud Run and School -Mild
• Children’s’ play games, films
• Exhibits

EDUCATION
ENVIRONMENTAL DRAMA COMPETITIONS AMONGST WILDLIFE CLUBS IN SCHOOLS CLOSE TO CHIMPANZEE HABITATS, HOIMA DISTRICT 25TH AND 26TH SEPTEMBER 2009
Wildlife clubs in seven primary schools and 5 five secondary schools are going to stage plays songs and poems about the environmental challenges in their local area.
The day’s theme is;
• “FORESTS ARE A TREASURE”
• Winners will have a fully paid trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and Uganda Wildlife Education Centre Entebbe.
